How To Start Eating Less Meat

Even though taking shorter showers, going to the farmer’s market, and buying less will really benefit the environment, eating less meat is actually one of the biggest changes you can try to do! Believe it or not, the amount of water to make a hamburger can allow you to take a month of showers! If you find it hard to eat less meat, this blog post is for you! Many people think that if you don’t eat meat, you don’t have enough nutrition and protein. But you do! I have not been eating meat for 1 month, and I am absolutely fine. Beans, soy, and vegan alternatives all have a bit more protein. I recommend this video if you are still not sure.

Find Delicious and Easy Vegan/Vegetarian Recipes

Once you find good recipes that you love, you are more likely to cook those recipes. I recommend this website, which has tons of vegan recipes. You can also try to make your favorite recipes without meat. The more recipes you discover, the more likely you are going to be able to eat less meat. Try different recipes at first, soon you will discover your favorites!

Buy More Vegetables and Less Meat

One of the things that helped a lot was simply to not have meat in the fridge. If you don’t have it, you won’t eat it. So when you go shopping for groceries next time, buy more vegetables and fruits and less meat. You can also try mock meats, for example, vegetable patties or vegan cheese.

Remember That It Takes Time

You have to remember that change doesn’t happen overnight, you don’t magically stop eating meat. It takes time. Start with one meatless Monday, then start eating less and less meat. if you crave some, have a bit! You might not become fully vegetarian, but reducing your amount of meat intake is already a good step! Accept that you aren’t perfect and can’t just become vegan or vegetarian without any mistakes.
